Raimi to direct Terry Pratchett adaptation

456px-Nac_Mac_Feegle.jpgSam Raimi's next project after Spider-Man 3 will be to produce and direct The Wee Free Man, an adaptation of a Terry Pratchett novel. It will mark the first time in seven years that Raimi has worked as a helmer on a project that isn't Spider-Man, which goes all the way back to The Gift in 2000. More info from Variety... "Published in 2003, "Wee Free Men" has kid empowerment and otherworldly themes with an edgy, irreverent tone. A 9-year-old farm girl heads off to a parallel world to retrieve a brother who has been grabbed by a nasty fairy queen. She battles the monsters of Fairyland with the help of 6-inch-tall blue-faced rowdies who wear kilts, speak in thick Scottish brogues, steal sheep and drink heavily". The project sounds right up Raimi's alley if you ask me but what now for Spider-Man? I guess this doesn't rule him out of directing a fourth installment as it's well known the series will probably take a breather for a few years after the third movie is released next year. As far as I'm concerned though, Raimi can direct Spider-Man movies till the day he dies. I'm in no rush to see the series end that's for sure. source - variety
