Ranking December 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

1. Roma

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 96% (9.1/10)

Box Office: Direct to Netflix.

Verdict: Alfonso Cuarón's Best Picture front-runner is a gorgeously rendered and deeply personal drama from the Gravity filmmaker, telling the tale of a family maid (Yalitza Aparicio) living in Mexico City in the early 1970s.

Roma's deceptively simple story is elevated to evocative new heights thanks to both newcomer Aparicio's deeply sympathetic performance and Cuarón's almost impossible beautiful cinematography (which he literally lensed himself)

This is a visual feast of a film which teases out a keen sense of time and place as it tells a deeply human tale free of sentimentality. If it wins Best Picture, it'd be tough to complain.
