Ranking December 2018's Movies From Worst To Best
15. Once Upon A Deadpool
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 52% (5.9/10)
Box Office: The PG-13 re-cut of Deadpool 2 was projected to add up to $50 million onto the movie's already terrific $700+ million worldwide total, but Once Upon a Deadpool closed out its limited theatrical run grossing just $5.91 million in North America (with a dollar from every ticket sold going to charity).
It's enough to cover the minimal costs of shooting the additional scenes, at least, and Fox will surely release it on home video in time for next Christmas.
Verdict: Though an undeniably cynical project intended to wring some more cash out of Deadpool 2, this seasonal new edit does at least boast an amusing, Fred Savage-starring wraparound story, some fun alternate takes and deleted scenes, and a touching closing tribute to Stan Lee.
But the Christmas feel is oddly lacking, and the PG-13 cuts ultimately feel totally pointless, because didn't every underage kid either sneak in to watch it or just see it on home video already?
