Ranking Every Animated Batman Film From Worst To Best
2. Batman: Under The Red Hood
Of all the animated Batman films that are aimed predominantly at adults, none quite live up to the masterwork that is Under the Red Hood. It offers a brand-new take on the infamous Batman storyline in which Jason Todd is murdered by the Joker, then returns as a merciless vigilante out to get revenge on Batman by showing him why is rule against killing is flawed in a world of savage criminals who kill without a second thought.
The action scenes are spectacular not because they're overly elaborate, but because they have an incredible amount of emotion behind them, as everything is driven by the pain these characters feel, with the film's urgent tone only making things feel that much more tense.
Plus, all the voice actors nail this emotion, which only makes the film that much more powerful. And while he might not be Mark Hamill, John DiMaggio is an absolutely fantastic Joker who should frankly play the role more often.
If you're trying to decide which "grown-up" Batman movie to watch, this should be your go-to.
