Even without the tragedy of Paul Walker's death, the seventh Fast & Furious movie would probably have taken a healthy $700m plus haul at the box office. Up to that point, the films were increasing in quality with each new chapter and Universal had been very smart with their new additions to the cast - with The Rock in particular adding a lot.

But when Walker died, Furious 7 took on an entirely different life of its own, thanked in no small part by the phenomenal performance of tribute song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. It helped that the film delivered on everything fans love about the series too, with ridiculous stunts, great chemistry and an improved villain - in the shape of Jason Statham on a vengeance kick.
