Ranking Every Billion Dollar Movie - From Worst To Best

9. Frozen

Frozen Elsa Ana
Disney

Box Office: $1,287,000,000

Tangled might be the better movie for a lot of people, but there's just no diminishing what Disney achieved with Frozen. In the run up to its release, despite some impressive releases, Disney's animated arm was still lagging behind siblings Pixar and it showed.

But Frozen was a huge statement of intent - and of class - for Disney, and it became a juggernaut in the best way, inspiring young girls (and boys, but to a lesser extent seemingly) to come out to the cinema. And even better for Disney, they bought an absolutely astonishing amount of merch, pushing Frozen up there with Spider-Man and Cars as one of the company's key lines.

The film is a simple, smart story, taking in positive messages for girls, classic Disney story pillars, and a good villain, and there's so much charm - not least in Olaf the Snowman - that it's success feels completely justified.
