Ranking Every DC Comic Book Movie From Worst To Best

5. Wonder Woman

DC Movies
Warner Bros.

Considering the apparent "problems" that Patty Jenkins and Warner Bros were beset with throughout the Wonder Woman production, it's a wonder it wasn't an utter disaster. The fact that it's legitimately one of the best DC comic book movies ever made is nothing short of a triumph.

In the absence of the more fun spirit of the comics, Jenkins concentrates on heart and character building, developing a glorious chemistry between Gal Gadot's Diana Prince and Chris Pine's Steve Trevor that drives the action beautifully. They are the pillars on which the action - which is brilliantly choreographed throughout - and the anti-war message are built and they are easily the most charismatic parts.

There's no needless darkness, no compromise on the adult approach of the DCEU and it doesn't at all feel alien to what Justice League should be, and it's great to see Wonder Woman finally on the big screen as she always deserved.

The final act sags ever so slightly, but that's only because it moves more into blockbuster comic book territory (which is still hugely entertaining), and the news that Patty Jenkins is coming back for a sequel is just brilliant. Sure, it's a shame we won't see more historically set movies, but the authenticity here was so well observed that it should be a joy to return to.
