Ranking Every DC Movie Villain From Worst To Best

27. Catwoman - Lee Meriwether (Batman '66)

DC Villains Updated
Warner Bros.

In her only outing as Catwoman, former Miss America Lee Meriwether sadly wasn't a match for her TV counterparts Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt.

Even in the camp surroundings that drew a lot more from the 1940s serials than the comics, she was somewhat detached: she was never quite colourful enough. It makes sense that she's sort of the "straight one" in the foursome of villains who unite to get their hands on a super weapon and threaten the world for 9 BILLION dollars, but there's too much of a disconnect between the material and her performance.

If she hammed it up a little more, she'd probably have been better, or alternatively if she'd played it completely straight like Adam West. This is, after all, an Austin Powers like production, and there's no call for a real-life performance.

The more realistic approach also highlights the fact that despite supposedly being a master criminal, she's part of a group who couldn't fight a cold. They're all comically incompetent, and the plot that Catwoman seems to think is genius is the stuff of real idiocy.

Batman '66 is available to buy from Amazon.
