The characters and their relationships are very well-defined throughout, especially the relationship between Tarzan and Kala. Yes, Terk is just discount Timon from The Lion King (though she's not as annoying as she could've been), and sure, the villain is a little vanilla, but overall, it's a compelling love story that never overwhelms and a lovely family story that repeatedly rips at the heartstrings.

Oh, and major props to Phil Collins for the music he made for this movie. It's iconic. Seriously, this man gave everything he had to this movie and it shows.
