Ranking Every Disney Animated Movie From Worst To Best!
11. Mulan (1998)
Mulan is one of the more often-unnamed films when discussing the Disney Renaissance, but it's excellent.
The titular character is an amazing role model for young women (or really, anybody), and her story has a very worthwhile message: be yourself, stand up for what's right, and don't subscribe to societal expectations. Musically, "I'll Make a Man Out of You" is definitely the highlight, but the best thing about it is how it stops dead in its tracks once the Chinese army reaches the burnt-down village. After that, there is never another song in the movie again, and it works so well.
Much like Tarzan, however, the villain leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, he looks scary as hell, but he speaks almost entirely in platitudes.
