Ranking Every Live-Action Superman Suit From Worst To Best

1. Superman & Lois Suit From The Early Days Flashback

Superman Movies
The CW

The winner for the best of all time is the suit worn by Tyler Hoechlin in the flashback sequence of CW’s Superman And Lois. It made the right choice of making it an accurate recreation of The one worn from Fleischer cartoons since these flashbacks represent the nostalgia of the good times between Lois and Clark in the early days of their relationship and Kal-El’s appearance to the world. Their nostalgia becomes our nostalgia for the earlier days of The Man of Steel's history too.

What is so impressive about this costume is that it avoids the usual elements of what is expected from a modern Superman and modern superhero suit in general, yet still being just as presentable and cinematic - It does not have the web-like added textures that Man of Still justified as chain mail. Where every suit since the Snyder era got rid of the red underpants, this one retains it.

Where most movies try to pretend the fabric is advanced or alien, this one looks like regular human fabric. If you do not like that, it covers its basis by being canonically made by Martha Kent. So it canonically gets by for being charmingly quaint.

It is a combination of what makes a live-action Superman suit look good in every live-action era, without all of the weaknesses. By definition, this is the winner in the game of survival of the fittest.
