Ranking February 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

3. The Shape Of Water

RottenTomatoes Score: 92% (8.4/10)

Box Office: Guillermo del Toro's new movie incredibly cost a mere $19.5 million - despite looking like a film several times that price tag - and propelled by strong Oscar buzz, is closing in on the $100 million mark worldwide. Not bad at all.

Verdict: Del Toro serves up one of his strongest efforts to date with this wonderfully charming slice of genre-bending sci-fi. Part-romance and part-heist film, The Shape of Water is girded by its gorgeous visuals and excellent cast, especially a completely silent, Oscar-nominated Sally Hawkins.

An atypical frontrunner for the Best Picture Oscar, the film finds del Toro at the peak of his craft, and serves as a beautifully moving monument to creativity at its most pure and unfettered.
