Ranking June 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

10. Churchill

RottenTomatoes Score: 48% (5.1/10)

Box Office: Even with an impressively low $10 million price tag, the Winston Churchill biopic's mixed reviews and a not-very-compelling marketing campaign are probably to blame for it not even making half its cost back yet.

Verdict: Brian Cox gives a marvelous performance as the titular character, so it's a shame that the rest of the movie isn't remotely as compelling. Though the likes of John Slattery and Miranda Richardson try to liven things up in supporting roles, Churchill is ultimately a rather dry and un-cinematic look at the lead-up to World War II's Allied D-Day landings.

Cox probably could've been in Oscar contention with better material, but instead his work is somewhat wasted on an underwhelming drama that's likely to be forgotten before year's end.
