Box Office: The romantic survival drama has grossed almost exactly its $35 million budget to date, though it's still yet to release in almost a dozen countries, and opened in a many more territories mere days ago.

Not a smash hit by any means, but factoring in international box office and home video, it'll do just fine.

Verdict: This romantic drama-cum-survival pic is propped up by Shailene Woodley's typically committed performance and slick direction from Baltasar Kormákur, even if it's hampered by a misguided plot structure and a manipulative third-act reveal (no points for guessing what it is).

The story's inherently affecting enough and Kormákur does a fine job wringing suspense out of the gut-wrenching man-vs-nature scenario, but it certainly would've benefited from a straighter, simpler execution.
