Ranking March 2019's Movies From Worst To Best
3. Us
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 94% (7.93/10)
Box Office: Another easy winner for Jordan Peele, his new horror film has crossed the $175 million mark after just two weekends on release, multiplying its $20 million price tag many times over.
Us' performance is especially significant as its $71.1 million opening is now the second-highest for a live-action original film after James Cameron's Avatar.
Needless to say, after just two movies, Peele has well and truly established himself as a brand in his own right, and we probably won't be waiting long for his third horror smash.
Verdict: Peele's sophomore feature doesn't land with quite the same impact as his storming debut, but it's still an imaginative, intriguingly mysterious and brilliantly acted genre film.
Lupita Nyong'o's terrific dual performance is largely responsible for carrying Us through some of its more eyebrow-raising stretches, especially as Peele arguably over-explains his mythology this time around.
Again, not as cutting, incisive or intense as Get Out, but a fine follow-up for the most part, and proof that he's far from a one-trick pony.
