Ranking March 2019's Movies From Worst To Best

14. Five Feet Apart

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 54% (5.62/10)

Box Office: Proving the enduring power of the teen "illness movie", Five Feet Apart has multiplied its $7 million budget many times over, storming past expectations and just crossing the $50 million mark. Not bad at all.

Verdict: It's easy to take one look at a movie like this and scoff at how cynical and calculated it seems, and though it absolutely cycles through the expected treacly cliches, it's also too well-acted by Haley Lu Richardson to be written off entirely.

The usual "live every day like it's your last" truisms are out in full force and some of the dialogue works out the cringe reflex, but it sees out its 116-minute runtime surprisingly well, and the predictable emotional beats work well enough.

Its target audience will lap it up no questions asked, and for everybody else it's not too painful either.
