Ranking October 2017's Movies From Worst To Best
7. The Death & Life Of Marsha P. Johnson
RottenTomatoes Score: 95% (7.4/10)
Box Office: David France's searing documentary went straight-to-Netflix.
Verdict: A devastating investigation into the 1992 death of a prominent figure in the trans community, this doc boasts a terrific sense of time and place thanks to extensive use of archive footage, which allows viewers to get under the central figure's skin even though the cause of her death ultimately remains illusive.
Another terrific addition to Netflix's fast-growing line-up of docs championing social justice, there's a ripe message at the heart of this film, even if those who need to hear it the most will sadly probably never see the film.
