Ranking October 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

1. Call Me By Your Name

Call Me By Your Name Armie Hammer
Sony Pictures Classics

RottenTomatoes Score: 98% (9.2/10)

Box Office: Made for just $4.7 million, Luca Guadagnino's universally-acclaimed romantic drama has made $300,000 from its limited U.K. release, but should do fine business with its international rollout over the next few months.

Verdict: Having enjoyed a huge wave of critical support ever since its Sundance debut, this incredible romance seems set for Oscar glory in the coming months, and with every aspect of its production being so finely-tuned, rightly so.

A heartbreaking examination of first love propelled by astonishing work from Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet, this is one of the year's most restrained and affecting dramas. It might be a little too slight for some, but it's smart, deeply-felt and always gorgeous to look at.
