Batman & Robin was a lot of things, but scary was not one of them. There is nothing much to say about George Clooney’s Batman because George Clooney was not interested in being anything other than being George Clooney. So, a charming and charismatic Batman? Maybe. An intimidating or scary Batman? When have those words ever been associated with that chin?
In a different world, where George Clooney took the job of being Batman more seriously, maybe we’d have something to sink our teeth into. Just because Batman & Robin was a comedic take on The Dark Knight, does not mean we couldn’t have a more imposing Batman. After all, we can take some intimidation factor out of Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane.
