Ranking The Super Bowl Movie Trailers From Worst To Best

2. A Cure For Wellness

Much like Life, A Cure for Wellness is not a film many people have been talking about, despite it being 12 days away from release, as the trailer itself lets us know. But this post could not have been timed better - if it is a success in its opening weekend, that will be in large part thanks to this excellent Super Bowl trailer.

With shades of The Shining present throughout, and featuring some very unique images, it exceeds in everything that Ghost In The Shell and Life's trailers set out to do. It manages to appeal not just to viewers who enjoy horror, but makes the film also look like a thriller and a mystery. In just 30 seconds, it manages to sell exceptionally well.

If this teaser was screened outside of the Super Bowl, it would still work just as well. It manages not to spoil anything, but also to attract a lot more attention to the film. It should easily retain any buzz its received from the Big Game by the times it is released in cinemas - trailers like this are the epitome of what a short Super Bowl advertisement should be, and why studios risk show much to show their upcoming films for such a high price.
