7. Sirius Black – Christian Bale
Sirius Black is an interesting character. Whilst he can be kind and intelligent, he’s also reckless and resentful a lot of the time.
Given Christian Bale’s considerable acting range, he’s an ideal candidate for such a nuanced man. Back in 2000, he demonstrated his ability to embody complex characters with his critically-acclaimed performance in American Psycho. (Though he’s probably best known for playing Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.)
Bale is also no stranger to radical weight changes. And given how Sirius is meant to be almost skeletal due to his many years in Azkaban, this unusual acting quirk would be perfect for the role.
Filling the shoes of the legendary Gary Oldman is a tough task – his portrayal of Sirius Black in the original movies is flawless. But if anyone’s up to the job, it’s Christian Bale.
