Did anyone outside the most die-hard of Super Troopers fans even know that the third film came out in August?

You couldn't be blamed for blanking on this comedy threequel, given that Searchlight Pictures seemingly gave it the bare minimum marketing push possible, ensuring that unless Super Troopers 3 was already firmly on your radar, you had little chance of noticing it.

And so, despite being released in over 2,500 North American cinemas, the film ended up grossing just $8 million - just a quarter of the previous sequel's $32 million global haul, and barely one third of what the original grossed 25 years ago.

While one can imagine that most involved would love to make a Super Troopers 4, that's got to be a seriously dubious prospect with a box office performance like this - unless it goes the direct-to-streaming route on a lower budget, of course.
