1. Remembering Raiders Of The Lost Ark
It
goes without saying that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have been
responsible for some of the movies’ best ever moments, yet the two close
colleagues and old friends look back on Raiders Of The Lost Ark with particular
fondness.
On one of the extras from a DVD release, Lucas described his experience thusly:
“Raiders Of The Lost Ark was dream for me. The script came out better than I could possibly imagine. Steven, when he started directing, it came out even better than the script. Every step of the way it was getting better and better and more fun and more exciting. Of all the movie I’ve made it was the most fun of all”.
As for Spielberg:
“I wasn’t thinking about making any kind of a movie that was a classic or any kind of a movie that was gonna be a huge success, although I was thinking about making a movie the audience would like. But I was trying to make a movie that was fiscally responsible.”
It’s safe to say he accomplished so much more than that.
