Ryan Reynolds: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Wade Wilson / Deadpool - X-Men Origins: Wolverine

As Wade Wilson in pre Deadpool phase, Reynolds is on rapid-fire joke cracking form and shows some serious panache when it comes to helping out Wolverine and his Team X members in a scrap. Bit annoying, mind. As Deadpool, or Weapon X as he's known, all of our hopes - and presumably Reynolds', seeing as he'd been gunning to play this character for years - for that familiar red and black-suited antihero to burst onto the screen are dashed in the finale of this lacklustre spin-off, where viewers are instead presented with a work in progress baddie with big swords coming out of his knuckles. Beyond naff. Overall, this may seem a bit of a harsh one, especially seeing as a proportion of the blame for this monstrous character interpretation sits with director Gavin Hood and screenwriter David Benioff, but quite simply whenever you think about Reynolds's body of work, it's this movie that pops into your head as his major failure. So bad, that it took six years and a whole lot of studio wrangling for the character to be resurrected on screen. Have some classic Reynolds roles that deserve a mention? Or perhaps you though Just Friends was cutting edge comedy? Or maybe you're agitated that his turn in Scrubs was omitted? Whatever your musings, hit the comments thread below and get chatting.
