Saw III, the third and hopefully final movie in the "Jigsaw" killer franchise hits theatres this weekend. Of course their was no advanced screenings for critics which is usually a good indicator that the film is terrible but it also means that as of today, there aren't many critics reviews to go from. Here is the best of those who have seen the movie...
"Saw III isnt just by far the best film of the series, its one of the better horror movies of the year". - Steve Tilley - JAM! Movies
"Extremely dull in every sense. Even the most devoted fan won't find much to enjoy in this grab-bag of tired cliches and inept tricks". - Frank Swietek - One Guy's Opinion
"Makes the first two look about as intimidating as a child's six piece jigsaw puzzle. This is for the hardcore horror fan and for the hardcore horror fan only". - Alex Sandell - Juicy Cerebellum
"Like a home video recorded by a five year-old who doesnt know how to work the zoom, Saw III spins through its list of disemboweling traps with little concern for continuity or common sense". - Jason Morgan - Cinema Blend
"Cleverly written, packed with substance, strong characters, warped traps and hard to watch kills that made me their bitch, I couldn't have asked for a better way for this franchise to end". - The Arrow - Arrow in the Head The movie is currently on a 50% rating on
Rotten Tomatoes but that's only from 14 reviews because of the no press screenings, so expect this to change quite substantially by the end of the weekend. I can't imagine that the ratio of critics liking the movie will be 1 out of every 2 when more have seen it. No doubt fans of the other two in the franchise will lap this third one up. I'm praying that no-one see's it this weekend so we won't be stuck with another Saw movie taking up valuable space in our cinema's next Halloween. source -
