20 TERRIFYING Scenes In Non Horror Movies
13. Granny & The Easter Bunny - Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey doesn't get nearly enough credit for being one of the most bonkers sequels of all time, culminating in a surprise left-turn into horror territory once Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are killed and end up in Hell.
There the duo, as their younger selves, are forced to face their biggest childhood fears, which in Bill's case is his extremely old grandmother attempting to give him a kiss, rotted teeth and all, while Ted finds himself terrorised by the Easter bunny for stealing his brother's Easter eggs.
The absolutely off-the-wall filmmaking really makes these sequences far more unnerving than they could've been - the striking colours, angular sets, and distorted perspectives truly approximate the warped logic of a childhood nightmare.
It helps that Bill's granny is played by Alex Winter himself in old lady makeup, while the Easter bunny is an uncanny valley animatronic puppet.
