1. A Conclusive Ending To The Requel Trilogy
While it's incredibly unlikely that Scream 7 will be the final entry into the franchise, it should feel like the climax of the Requel Trilogy, paying off the established character threads with a degree of finality - albeit while still leaving the door open for more.
First and foremost, close the lid for good on Sam's whole Dark Passenger shtick - ditch the goofy CGI Billy Loomis apparitions and confirm that, no, Sam isn't going to become a psycho killer one day, even if her traumatic past gives her a sure leg-up against anyone attempting to kill her.
Given that we're likely going to have three Scream movies in the span of around two years by the time Scream 7 is released, it'd make sense to give the film a fitting send-off to this era of Scream.
Allow everyone involved to take a few years off, let the audience miss the franchise again, and return with a fresh take, with or without the current cast.
Sure, some fans would love to see annualised Scream movies until the end of time, but there's no denying that the quality would suffer immeasurably for it.
