Scream 7: 10 Things We Want To See
2. Keep Stu Out Of It
In recent years the fan theory that Stu Macher is still alive has picked up major traction online, enough that many fans were left disappointed that he didn't resurface in the fifth or sixth movie.
And while Stu was indeed originally intended to return in Scream 3, it's an idea which was quite sensibly discarded because it's just too damn silly - even for the loosey-goosey standards of Scream.
Do you remember how heavy those giant CRT TVs were? There's no way he survived having it land on his head, not to mention the ensuing electric shock it caused.
Bringing Stu back from the dead almost 30 years later would see the series jump the shark in spectacularly stupid fashion, requiring far too many logical hoops for the audience to jump through.
Though Scream VI winked at the "Stu is alive" theories during Kirby's conversation with Mindy, at most Scream 7 should feature Stu "truthers" who believe he's still alive, rather than pulling the trigger and bringing Matthew Lillard back.
The popularity of the theory, though, is ultimate proof of why the filmmakers shouldn't listen too much to fan feedback. There's a reason that most Redditors don't write movies.
