3. John Ryder - The Hitcher (2007)

In the remake of Rutger Hauer's classic horror flick, Bean plays John Ryder, a hitchhiker and deranged killer with an unknown number of victims. While the original had an unsettling sense of foreboding, Bean can't quite match that level of performance that was so unnerving. Accused of looking 'bored' by many critics, he does nothing out of the norm for a horror villain, something that is vital for a horror focused on such a small number of potential victims. He's utterly interchangeable in the role, any other rugged nutter could quite easily have phoned in a similarly lacklustre performance.
