1. It's Nowhere Near As Good As The Original

This shouldn't be terribly surprising to anyone, but yes, Sicario 2 is nowhere near as enthralling, dread-soaked or straight-up entertaining as the Denis Villeneuve-directed, Roger Deakins-lensed original.

While it certainly hasn't just been lazily churned out for a quick buck, it nevertheless lacks the finesse and smooth control of its predecessor, and therefore feels unarguably inferior.

It certainly can't have been easy for Sheridan to even consider writing a sequel to such an aggressively standalone movie, but it's tough to believe that this is the best he could come up with.

With all of these gripes in mind, however, here's everything Sicario 2 got right...
