6. The New Car Continues Skyfall's Approach

Bond's choice of car has always been an essential part of the movies, as important an element of the formula as girls and gadgets. So it was really only to be expected that Mendes would unveil the machine element of the cast before getting onto the human contingent. Far from being a reveal reserved to just petrol-heads, it transpires that Bond will be behind the wheel of a car with great significance to the series - the Aston Martin DB10. The world's first look at the car, designed specifically for Spectre, it provides an insight into the approach the new movie will be taking - it'll have a continuation of Skyfall's old-new melding. Bond 23 brilliantly brought back the iconic Aston Martin DB5, and while it could be cynically read that Sony just have an ongoing contract with the car manufacturer, the decision to use a more modern update of that line is likely incredibly targeted. With SPECTRE and the Aston Martin back in a new form, not to mention the new M, Q and Moneypenny settling into their new roles, things are moving forward with a strong eye to the past.
