Spectre: 10 Awesome Things We Learned About Bond 24
7. The Locations Hint At The Plot
It wasn't just the title reveal that the world got to see on the live stream - there was a barrage of interesting information that sheds some light on what audience's can expect from Spectre when it hits theatres next November. First up was the list of locations, and while some of them had already been rumoured, there were still some surprises. On top of the filming in Pinewood (where the announcement took place), shooting will take the cast and crew on location to London, Rome, Mexico City, Morocco and the Austrian Alps. There's some locations being returned to, which, (like Skyfall) hints at a desire to invoke a bit of that old nostalgia - The Living Daylights saw Bond head to Morocco and, more importantly, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, an essential movie in the original SPECTRE arc, famously set much of its action upon an Alpine peak. Its not all classic references though - despite having frequented Italy (most recently Venice in Casino Royale), Bond's never been to the capital which promises some more striking imagery. What's notable is that this is more globally expansive than Skyfall (which, after opening in Turkey, was resigned to China and the UK), which makes sense with Bond taking on a global organisation rather than just a single, crazed former spy.
