Spectre: 8 Major Reveals From Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall Video
6. The Rome Sequence Is Early In The Film
What's interesting about the video is that it appears to presenting events in the chronology of the film (at the very least the structure lines up narratively with the official plot synopsis) - a pretty standard tact for Bond, but a revealing one nonetheless. The biggest thing learned from this is the order of the country-hopping sequences; it looks like Rome, where Bond comes across a secret meeting of S.P.E.C.T.R.E.'s top brass and winds up in a high-speed car chase with Mr. Hinx, is going to be the first proper stop off on his adventure. This makes quite a lot of sense - this would indeed be the meeting where Mr. White's "name came up" - but given how plot-essential it appears is also rather surprising. What's particularly exciting about this is that, while we're getting evidence of it now, it shows how un-ruinous the advertising campaign has been; it turns out so much of the early trailers were only dealing with the film's first act.
