Spider-Man: Far From Home - 10 Biggest Questions It Leaves Unanswered

7. What Exactly Does The World Think Happened To Captain America?

Far From Home opens with a chintzy "In Memoriam" tribute for the superheroes lost in Endgame, as created by some of Peter's fellow students.

Alongside Iron Man, Vision (Paul Bettany) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) receiving pictorial tributes, so too does Captain America (Chris Evans).

But of course, we all know that Steve Rogers didn't really die in Avengers: Endgame, instead travelling to an alternate timeline to live out something approximating his "original" life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

So, what was the world actually told regarding Cap's "death"?

The Likely Answer: This one is a pretty simple work of deduction, really: they were probably told that Cap expired during the final battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin), just as Iron Man did.

This itself would raise some additional questions, though, like why there aren't any murals immortalising Cap anywhere, but we can probably assume that's a storytelling choice Marvel made for the sake of streamlining, to focus on the impact of Tony's sacrifice above all others.

Either way, the world clearly believes Cap died following the events of Endgame. The how or why isn't terribly important, at the end of the day.
