8. What Was Nick Fury Doing With The Skrulls?

Few could've predicted quite what was in store for Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in Far From Home, with the eventual reveal that himself and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) were in fact Skrulls Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Soren (Sharon Blynn) all along. It certainly explains some of his less-than-smart decision-making throughout the movie.

The film's post-credits scene reveals this along with the fact that the real Fury has been hanging out in space, commanding a Skrull spaceship. Quite what he's doing or why he's there, however, remains up in the air.

The Likely Answer: Given that "Fury" makes it clear The Avengers aren't much of a thing post-Endgame, it seems probable he's in space seeking a security solution for Earth.

Early fan speculation has pointed to him possibly building the S.W.O.R.D. space station from the comics, which could act as the "suit of armour" around the world that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) envisioned once upon a time.

Given that the prospect of extra-terrestrial threats has become greater the wider the MCU has expanded, it'd certainly be a logical next step. Or, the whole thing could just be a throwaway gag - we'll have to wait and see.
