Spider-Man: Far From Home - What Does The Multiverse Mean For MCU?

One of the story arcs that's often been mentioned as having the potential to be the MCU's next big saga is Secret Wars, and by often been mentioned, I mean both the Russo brothers and Infinity War/Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have openly expressed their interest.

There are two comic book runs titled Secret Wars. The first was released as a 12-part storyline from 1984-85, and saw a character called The Beyonder bringing together a number of Marvel heroes and villains from across the universe to fight on a planet called Battleworld.

More pertinent, though, is the 2015 version of Secret Wars, written by Jonathan Hickman (whose Infinity storyline helped inspire Infinity War). That storyline was all about the destruction of the multiverse, which meant various characters had to be brought together. Now that the multiverse exists, there's very much a reason to do this storyline, and this could then be how you end up introducing those Fox characters to the MCU - and even if not, there's still a wealth of potential in establishing the multiverse and then bringing it down upon itself.

What do you think the multiverse means for the MCU? Let us know down in the comments.
