Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 - 10 Comic Stories It Could Adapt
2. The Death Of Jean DeWolff
Spider-Man: Homecoming had a lot of heart, so an emotive storyline like The Death Of Jean DeWolff would be a good fit for the Tom Holland era.
The arc centres on the killing of long-time Spidey ally, police captain Jean DeWolff and while it's light on supervillains, it's packed with sentiment and grit.
Comic fans were introduced to another side of Spider-Man when his friend fell victim to a serial killer and Peter Parker became embroiled in the kind of hardboiled New York crime investigation normally associated with Daredevil.
There are a number of reasons why a cinematic adaptation would work well in the MCU. For one, it would make for a tonally unique Spider-Man movie.
The best MCU films are those which have experimented with tone. Captain America: The Winter Solider, for instance, is a Cold War thriller, and The Death Of Jean DeWolff would mark a similar shift for Spidey.
The biggest roadblock is the absence of Jean DeWolff in the MCU, but it's an easy fix - introduce her early in the film and don't kill her off until at least the second act.
Scorpion should be incorporated into the story too since he was teased as the next villain in Homecoming, but again, no biggie, as most MCU movies are loose adaptations of comic books.
