Spider-Man: No Way Home - 10 Darkest Moments

4. The Villains Learn They're Dead

Once all five villains have been detained, they talk amongst themselves. Doc Ock tells Norman Osborne that he died. Sandman then tells Octavius that he died as well, which Doc Ock says is impossible. He recounts the final battle from Spider-Man 2, but his memory cuts off right as he dies. Electro then recounts his duel with Spider-Man from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and, like Doc Ock, discovers that he can't remember past where he dies in that film.

From there, it's utterly horrifying watching these powerful and terrifying villains cower at the prospect of their own fate. There's something particularly upsetting in Rhys Ifans' delivery of his line where he asks Electro if he dies. To hear this savage lizard monster sound like a scared little boy was more frightening than most of the film's action sequences.

In the previous Spider-Man films, fans may have been happy to see these characters die, since it means that the Web-head won. However, seeing their perspectives on their own demises adds a layer to every previous Spider-Man film.
