Because online film fans absolutely love reading too much into things, a Miles Morales cameo isn't the only theory that Paula Newsome has been linked to.

Shortly after the trailer dropped, one of the hottest posts on the Marvel Studios subreddit was this one, which theorised that Newsome's quick appearance in the trailer (pictured above) isn't what it seems.

The fan pointed out that Newsome looks like she's been digitally inserted into that car seat, and that she's actually been put there to hide the character who's really in the scene.

It sounds outlandish, yes, but not impossible. Watch the scene in motion and sure enough, Newsome does look weirdly flat, for lack of a better term - like a still image that's been pasted into the shot.

And again, let's not forget the MCU's history of misleading trailers, with Marvel even going so far as to spend extra money on CGI, just to cover up a secret. Remember that shot of Hulk charging into battle in the Infinity War trailer, which wasn't actually in the movie?

If Newsome has indeed been CGI'd into the shot, the question then becomes: who's she covering up? Fan predictions range from the intriguing (Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn) to the outlandish (Alligator Loki) - we'll just have to wait and see.
