Spider-Man: No Way Home - Both Post-Credits Scenes Explained

5. A New Venom

While Tom Hardy's Venom is seemingly back out of the MCU for now, that doesn't mean that the MCU is completely done with Venom as a character.

Once Eddie Brock was transported back to his own universe, he didn't leave the MCU unmarked. Instead, a small sample of the alien symbiote was left behind on the bar Brock was boozing at, with said slice of otherworldly goo nicely twitching as this post-credits scene concluded.

This absolutely opens up the door for symbiotes in the MCU, and more importantly for an MCU version of Eddie Brock and Venom. Of course, Brock wasn't the first person this symbiote bonded with, and so any new version of Venom may not immediately have Eddie as the one to bond with the parasite.

Even after Brock and the alien struck up their unique relationship in the comics, that didn't stop the Venom symbiote from later bonding with the likes of Eddie's ex-wife Ann Weying, Flash Thompson, Mac Gargan, Lee Price, Angel Fortunato, and Patricia Robertson.

All of this also obviously opens up the possibility of a re-run of the symbiote joining with Peter Parker; something which was first done in Secret Wars #8 back in 1984.
