Spider-Man: Ranking All The Movie Costumes Worst To Best

4. Spider-Man (1 & 2)

Spider Man Sam Raimi Era Suit
Marvel Entertainment/Sony

When Sam Raimi's Spider-Man debuted in 2002, the world was given a beautiful interpretation of the costume unlike any it had seen before. Unlike previous television appearances, this new cinematic costume looked less like cheap spandex and more like a professional-grade costume... which is exactly what it was.

Anyone who watched this movie couldn't have believed some kid created his costume at home, but that's what the movie wanted the audience to believe. Regardless, the suit was spectacular in that it was a classic representation of the character with a modern twist.

Because Raimi opted to incorporate organic web-shooters, the suit didn't require any sort of bulky wrist bracelets or technical devices. This helped to keep the lines smooth and representational of the comic book look.

The colors were all done properly, but the lines of webbing on the suit were the most impressive feature. Each line was raised in a way that retained a natural look, but also made for a more textured appearance. The only thing this suit could have benefited from would have been the expressive eyes the suits from later films featured.
