17. The Writer Cameo
Sulu's husband may actually be pretty recognisable to fans.
Writer Doug Jung, who co-scripted the film alongside appears as Sulu's husband Ben who appears in two brief scenes with Sulu's daughter on Yorktown. He was apparently chosen partly because he was Asian - an added stigma in that community.
There are also a couple of other more obscure cameos. Director Justin Lin gave small roles to Danny Pudi, who he directed in Community and Kim Kold, who was in Fast & Furious 6. Always nice when your friends come through for you.
