Star Trek: Every In Development Movie & TV Show, Ranked
3. Wrath Of Khan-related Mini Series
A three-part series entitled Ceti Alpha V has been written by famed Star Trek director Nicholas Meyer. Meyer, of course, helmed both the strong Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and the ultimate classic Trek movie, The Wrath Of Khan. He was also a consulting producer on the first season of Star Trek Discovery.
Ceti Alpha V was the planet on which Captain Kirk marooned Khan and his crew in The Original Series episode 'Space Seed,' and where the genetically engineered superman escaped from to seek vengeance in the second feature film. Meyer's trilogy, then, seems likely to focus on the backstory of one of Trek's greatest villains, and perhaps something of his life on the planet where Kirk left him.
Khan did, of course, appear in the second Kelvin movie Into Darkness in an iteration which dismayed many fans, and flat-out confused others. Hopefully, any future takes on the character will remember the essence which made him so memorable, instead of trying to play off past glories like that movie did.
Meyer being one of the main architects of The Wrath Of Khan bodes well, but right now it seems the project is on hold due to issues between the holders of Trek's TV and movie rights - CBS and Paramount, respectively. If and when it goes ahead it could be amazing to find out more and get under the skin of one of Trek's most indelible personalities.
