Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

18. Wells

Star Trek Wells Class
CBS

The Wells class of ship was a timeship in service in the 29th century, tasked primarily with dealing with temporal incursions. Named for H.G. Wells, famed author of The Time Machine, The War of the Worlds and others, these ships were vastly different from the Starfleet ships that had come before.

The general design was based on an arrowhead and then reshaped. The standard pieces of Starfleet ships, namely the bussard collectors, phaser strips, life rafts etc were all present - just in a different alignment from what had been seen before.

As the ship was tasked with dealing with time rather than space, it was not designed for combat or speed. It was one of the most unique designs of ship in the ever-expanding fleet.
