Star Wars: 10 Awkward Prequel Moments Fans Will Never Forget

9. Anakin Not Becoming A Jedi Master

Through the prequel trilogy, fans of the legendary Darth Vader were forced to endure his very moody teenage years, which did not stop when he was in his early 20s, especially whenever other Jedi did not let Anakin do or get whatever he wants.

This reaches a climax in Revenge of the Sith when due to political pressure from Chancellor Palpatine Anakin is finally put on the Jedi council. However, due to the nature of his promotion, the other Jedi masters keep Anakin from reaching the same ranking as them in the Jedi order.

Anakin becomes extremely furious and starts basically whining about how unfair it is to not be called master Skywalker and calling on how this has never happened in the history of the Jedi order.

Seeing Anakin being moody in episode 2 can be excused as he is, in fact, still in his teenage years. However, seeing an older Anakin who supposedly was hardened by the clone wars complain about not getting an arbitrary ranking like he is being forced to go to summer school is just demeaning of the man he is supposed to be.

Obviously the point the scene was trying to show was how Anakin felt his time as a general in the war would earn him recognition from his superiors, but their distrust of his political allies meant he would not achieve all that he wanted, but instead the scene just brought back painful episode 2 memories.
