Star Wars: 10 Things You Never Knew About General Grievous

2. Clashing With Boba Fett

General Grievous Facts
Lucasfilm

Much like Grevious, Boba Fett is an iconic Star Wars villain who's never fully been given the chance to live up to his full potential (though the upcoming series Book of Boba looks to be preparing to fix this), and it might come as a shock the pair have actually clashed before.

After aligning himself with vicious intergalactic gangster Jabba the Hutt, Boba was given his first off-world assignment near the end of the Clone Wars. Sent to the war-torn planet of Xagobah, he was ordered to assassinate Separatist leader Wat Tambor.

It was meant to be an easy mission, but the young bounty hunter was blindsided by the arrival of Grievous, who easily overpowered him. Boba faked his death and escaped, meaning he actually failed the first major assignment his boss had given him.

This meeting can be found in the young adult novel Boba Fett: A New Threat, which, whilst a bestselling and well-reviewed story, is not considered part of the official Star Wars canon. Still makes for one hell of a meet-up, though.
