Star Wars: 10 Ways The New Films Could Improve The Prequels
8. Use Force Ghosts To Fix Yoda And Other Jedi
Yoda was one of the characters most butchered by the prequels. He went rom nutty old sage to back-flipping swordsman, and didnt get nearly enough opportunities to showcase his wisdom and mastery of the Force. He had a few brief chats and some fight scenes, and thats about it. Thankfully, the new movies could remedy this by bringing back the Yoda that fans know and love. Frank Oz already lent his voice to Reys vision sequence in The Force Awakens (he can be heard in the background saying something along the lines of holds us hmmm binds us). This teases the idea that Yodas Force Ghost is still around. And if he is, fans would surely love him to pop up in Episode VIII, dole out some advice and reinstate what the character was originally all about. The same goes for Obi-Wan (who said Rey, these are your first steps in The Force Awakens). By bringing back Ewan McGregor and using CGI/makeup to make him look a tad more like Alec Guinness, Lucasfilm could find a way to pay homage to the prequels and the original trilogy at the same time. Samuel L. Jackson's Mace Windu could even pop up if Lucasfilm really want to remedy things, giving the character a better ending than being unceremoniously lobbed out of a window. Itd be great to see these Jedi brought back, and treated better than they were in the prequels.
