Star Wars: 10 Weird Expanded Universe Things We're Glad Aren't Canon Anymore

Though there is a lot to like about Timothy Zahn's original Thrawn Trilogy, there are a few more-than-quirky moments in them which makes their decanonization a little bit easier to bare. The plot of Last Command, the series' finale, is a bit all-over-the-place and almost makes the movies seem tame by comparison.

The plot revolves around the so-called "Dark Jedi" Joruus C'baoth scheming to take Luke and Leia as his apprentices. If Vader and the Emperor couldn't do that, then there is little reason to belive C'baoth could, though that is beside the point.

When Luke finally confronts this Dark Jedi, he reveals his secret weapon: a clone of Luke Skywalker replicated from the hand Vader severed on Bespin. Wielding the saber Luke lost in that same incident, the two duel for supremacy. This may have been a cool scene were the novel not essentially jumping the shark at this point.

What's worse is that the clone was given the totally laughable moniker of Luuke Skywalker. Imitation may be the highest form of flattery, but this is just horrible. Star Wars is full of trite moments, and it didn't need an added evil twin plot thread.
