Star Wars: 13 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (Jan 21st)

10. Guy Henry Will Play Grand Moff Tarkin

Rogue One already boasts a very impressive cast. As well as the aforementioned Mikkelsen and Jones, there's Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, and Forest Whitaker. However, there's still room a few more, with Jedi News reporting the latest on the casting. The main one is that Guy Henry, best known for roles in TV series Rome and John Adams (while he also appeared in the final two Harry Potter films), is playing an Imperial Officer in the movie. While there will be plenty of officers milling about the Death Star, could Henry actually be playing the most notable, Grand Moff Tarkin (as speculated here)? Rating: 5/10 It would make a great degree of sense for Tarkin to be in Rogue One, given how powerful a figure he is within the ranks of the Imperial forces in Star Wars (A New Hope). There were reports last summer of Peter Cushing, who played the Moff, being recreated using CGI, which was causing trouble because during filming he was only ever shot from the ankle up, due to a preference for wearing slippers rather than the uncomfortable boots that were part of his uniform. Casting an actor could be a solution to that, and Guy Henry does bear something of a resemblance to him, albeit a fair bit younger. With some ageing make-up he could pull it off, but will they want another actor taking on Cushing's part? It may depend on the technology, but at the moment the safer bet suggests he'll just be a different Imperial Officer.
