Star Wars: 20 Worst Franchise Moments (So Far)

8. The Jedi Meetings

Film: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

For many, one of the most exciting things about seeing The Phantom Menace would have been to see the Jedi Order in their former glory. After all, they'd never really been seen properly in the Original Trilogy, but once the Jedi Order did arrive on-screen, it amounted to a group of grumpy old dudes sitting in a council chamber debating.

The entire Coruscant stretch in The Phantom Menace doesn't really work and the tedious meetings in the Jedi Temple have the dubious honor of being the worst part. These scenes are made even more scandalous by the criminal wastes of both Yoda and Samuel L Jackson.

To be honest, the Jedi seen in TPM come across as A-holes and kill-joys who lack likability, are remarkably oblivious and do nothing but complain. In particular, Yoda's speech about fear leading to etc. is cringe-worthy.

These scenes are basically all the worst parts of TPM in one place: young Anakin, clunky dialogue, stiff acting and a general lack of charm.
